Champions Shanghai: T1 and 100 Thieves survive elimination
2 min read
Paper Rex and Nongshim RedForce exit after two three-map series on October 9.

Friday’s lower-bracket matches at VALORANT Champions Shanghai produced two survivors with very different deciding maps. T1 edged Paper Rex; 100 Thieves overwhelmed Nongshim RedForce. Both series finished 2–1, according to VLR.gg’s October 9 reports.
T1 turns the Summit decider around
T1 won Lotus 13–7 before Paper Rex answered 13–6 on Ascent. On Summit, T1 recovered from 11–6 down to win 13–11 and eliminate Paper Rex. VLR recorded 52 kills for iZu across the series. The comeback makes the closing rounds worth revisiting, rather than reducing the match to its final score.
100 Thieves finishes with a statement
100 Thieves took Summit 13–5, lost Sunset 9–13, then closed Ascent 13–1. Nongshim’s exit followed a decider in which 100 Thieves led 11–1 at halftime. VLR credited bang with a series-leading 1.27 rating.
What to look for in the replays
Our viewing recommendation is to compare how the two winners converted an advantage into a round win. Watch the surviving players, available utility and post-plant positions before the final duel. That provides a more useful discussion than treating every comeback as momentum or every heavy defeat as an individual failure.
This is a recap of October 9 results, published October 10. It does not include results from October 10 matches.
